Daddy is doing much better. He is well enough to not really need someone other than my mother here round the clock. That is, if my mother will stop playing like a 14 year old. She has macular degeneration, but will not accept that she can't see. Her equilibrium is shot and she walks with a walker, but will not accept that she should curtail ( Read more... )

I hear similar stories from my sister, who is primary carer for her 99-year-old father-in-law. He seems to take an almost childlike delight in doing things (or *trying* to do things) that he shouldn't be, in those moments when she's not watching.

That sounds very trying. What you are doing must be very hard indeed, and you are doing it with real love. I hope you're also taking good care of yourself.
