I have to keep reminding myself that it totally counts as vegetables even if Ada isn't seated at a table and is showing every sign of enjoying it. Right now, she's really enjoying fresh oregano from the garden, every time we walk past. ("Is this a yummy leaf, Mama?" "Yes, dear." "It's oregano!")

I'm impressed that you managed to get oregano to grow. I found it just keeled over, which is a shame because it's probably my absolute favourite herb. I can grow sage (which isn't that useful if you don't eat meat) in huge quantities though.

If you have sun, and drainage, the problem with oregano is usually stopping it from invading surrounding territory, not growing it. If you're good with sage, I suspect you have plenty of water, but it's much happier with less light than oregano is.

Sage is pretty fantastic with pasta. Sage, olive oil (or butter) and nice pasta is gorgeous.

I'm also very fond of sage with beans, especially pureed broad beans.

Thyme and oregano mostly seem to like the same things, but thyme's more OK with less sun.
