The Bell Jar--I wasn't a fan, but I have read it...

Wuthering Heights--LOVE it. Many people don't like it, because it is rather depressing, but it's one of my favorite books. I am a fan of mad characters, though.

Sense and Sensibility--Yes. Have you see the Emma Thompson movie? It's great; I've found that seeing the movie before reading the book sometimes helps with Austen.

Emma--Same, I liked the Paltrow movie and loved the book.

To Kill a Mockingbird--... Everyone loves it. I only like it marginally.

Huck Finn--awesome.

Oh, recommendations:

You have read Pride and Prejudice, right? I assume that with all the Austen, you have, but you never know.

Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. Yes, there's racism, but the fact is that's what happened during that era. It's a book from the Southern perspective.

ANYWAY, end defense of the book. It's my favorite book of all time. Awesome romance, gritty portrayal of the South and the reconstruction, best love story of all time. Also includes Best Male Anti-Lead, and Best Antiheroine. (AKA, best bitch.)

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It's a much more recent book, but AMAZING. It's the story of a German foster child--Liesel--during World War II, along with her friends and family. Told from the perspective of Death. Awe-inspiring book. I don't know how many times I've cried over it.

I liked the bell jar, but it deffinitly wasn't like one my favorites. I've seen a movie for wuthering heights so that's part of the reason i want to read it. it was a great story.
I have read pride and prejudice! I saw the movie first too, and i think it did help, so i may do that with emma, and sense and senseability.
Haha, I'm fine with racism, not saying i'm rascist, but it's inmortant in a lot of literature, and it's kool seeing it from both sides. I'll deffinitly check those books out!

I would make suggestions about your list- scratch As I Lay Dying and read The Sound in the Fury first= best life choice you will probs make

Read Moby Dick. Everyone complains about it but I thought it was pretty much the most facinating book I have ever read. Also...when people snicker because Dick is in the title...there is a reason for it...the book is smuttastic.
