As a special treat, here's a short excerpt of the current WIP.  The wordcount is at 26k right now, but this is a little snippet lifted out of the middle of the first chapter.  Raw, unedited rough draft.  All mistakes are my own

oooo great beginning...

I'm curious how Brendan died that made him such an important figure. And oy... I can see the conflict already. His partner dies in a plane crash and he is interested in a pilot.. can't be good. Or well, it likely is really good *grins* .. can't wait!

This isn't the VERY beginning, that does tell you how Brendan died, but that would've made the excerpt too long or else it would've been all sad and no Dustin. So you got this. ;)

When I hit 30k, I'm going to do a happier moment from later in the story.
