This past winter, I spent more than my share of time at the campus ice arena skating around and watching hockey games.  About 8 weeks ago, they closed the rink for the summer, and I've been suffering some ice withdrawl ever since.

It makes me want to weep! The mats almost look like face-off circles, and everything! *sob!*

I notice you chose to take those pictures from FF... except the third almost looks like you've gone to the dark side that is EE. Please tell me that you just zoomed in and that you weren't actually standing in hoochie-central...

I did a bit of web-hunting and found out what's officially happening. They have some sort of Boy's Team Wrestling Camp going on, starting tonight. Their official flyer says the following: "We will utilize the UI Ice Arena with approximately 20,000 square feet of mat space. The building will be free of ice and our camp will have exclusive use of the outstanding facility."

*scowl*

I didn't even think about the face-off circles, but you're right. Glad I didn't think about that when I was there. My weeping might've drawn attention from the people that would've kicked me out.

I figured I'd get the best vantage point from the balcony. Since I'm going up there ANYWAY, I may as well choose FF. Besides, with the side doors to the arena open it was much easier to sneak up to FF than any of the sections on west side.

I was actually standing right in-between EE and FF when I took those photos. The hoochies are gone. It's safe. Really. Although, now I wonder...do the hockey hoochies sit in EE because that's the sound they make when they scream? Like, oh my god, EEEEEEEeeeee...
