Just Another "Typical" Day

Nov 10, 2007 15:25

Today is an 8.  You've just about had it with doing things you'd rather put off until later.  Turn that around.  Party now and let the unfinished chores wait.

That's what the local campus paper gave me as a horoscope yesterday.  Let's see where that got me...

I started out my morning dressing up in a button-down shirt and slacks for an Irish concert ( Read more... )

ice skating, irish fiddling, hankdmoose, njschiffer, viola

No, Mike, it would have made a crap story... and it wouldn't have been as entertaining a day for you, either.

Glad the shoulder made it through the evening alright. Hopefully it's not too bad today, but I'm guessing it's not as good as it could be since there is no mention of Aikido here.

Tonight, you can just sit back and enjoy watching the Billikens get the crap stomped out of them. And by sit back, I mean stand. Because if you sit through the whole game, or even a significant fraction thereof, there will be consequences. Horrible, dire consequences.

Like such as not being able to see the game quite as well as you otherwise would. And getting a sore ass. I personally believe.

Right you are. I can move my arm forward without much trouble, but now I can't move it behind me too well. Considering Aikido pins mostly involve pulling the arm behind someone and driving their shoulder into the mat, I decided to take a pass on it. If it doesn't improve over the next few days, I'll seek some medical attention.

As for standing vs. sitting, I hate standing up in front of people, especially when I can hear them complaining about people standing in front of them (as happened at the last game). I've been in their shoes before at a different sporting event. Everyone in front of me was standing. I couldn't see anything, so I just gave up and left early.

You want to stand? Fine. Do that. I'll make my own choice during the game.

The way I look at it, the people behind me can either stand up, too, or sit in a different section. They have that option at the hockey games. They can sit anywhere on west side and not have to deal with people standing. They choose to sit where they do, despite knowing full well what they're going to have to deal with. It's right up there with people sitting in FF with little kids.

I might feel bad about standing in front if I didn't constantly hear conversations about everything beside the game. If they'd close their mouths for even one sequence, I'd be compelled to believe they're paying attention. They don't, so I stand.

And if they're sitting 2nd row, they're not going to see much either way. The arena is a great environment if you get in the front row, but it sucks everywhere else unless you're standing behind the glass.

I say to those people behind us, "meh..." You clearly don't. I've never denied you're a nicer guy than I am :)

Yes, that was a much better story than "I sat in my office and worked." And much longer.

To make a long story short. Too late.
