I'm surprised that no one guessed this often-played classic 70's song. I remember back in the day when it was a hit and being played on AM radio almost continually. I couldn't entirely figure out what the lyrics meant but of course I was rather young. It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that I didn't get the Eminem one farther down the list.

I'm surprised too. Except for #8, I think it's the most recognizable opening lines of any of the unguessed ones. I know she wrote it about a specific singer-songwriter, but I can't remember which one--let me check Wikipedia--never mind. It doesn't say who the song was written about, but it turns out that Roberta Flack didn't write it, which surprises me.
Anyway, as I'm about to post the results, you get the final correct answer.
