Photoshop + Musik

Ok, so browsing during my lunchtime, I ambled upon seriouslywir 's Last.fm profile.... and she has a group listed for people who listen to music while working in Photoshop. Now, I have to admit, I do this all the time. Unless I was at work and not actually *able* to listen to my favorite music, I generally do not work without it. And must of my senior gallery

I like a soft sort of background track - I have a compilation of some of my fav tracks from the old show Roswell that I favor a lot (Beth Orton, Sarah McLachlan, Dido, Dave Matthews Band, Save Ferris, etc.)

I've tried listening to bands I really love (such as Muse) when I work, but I end up getting too distracted by the songs ^_^ A half hour will pass and I'll realize that I've just been singing along to the songs while I stare at my computer, rather than working :P

lol, I do the same. Muse's acoustic album fixes that problem a little. I can work pretty seamlessly with that on background. If you want it, I can send it to you. ;)

When I write, I tend to like a more mellow background. It's usually acoustic, something like The Weepies, Sufjan Stevens, Iron & Wine or Joshua Radin. When I need something I bit more...intense...I go for pandora stations like Kings of Leon or My Chemical Romance.

Oh, I do love The Weepies and Iron & Wine. Samuel Beam's voice is so soothing for me.

hehe, try Linkin Park for extra pep on Pandora. Mute Math also gives me some cool musicians, too.

what do you all generally like to listen to when working in your trade? (Writing fic, piddling in Photoshop, doing actual work, etc.)

LoL, i'm horrible. i listen to things on shuffle. but i always start with the song i like at the moment :D
