Poor Young Indiana has an ear infection, so I was snuggling with him last night he suddenly pressed up and proclaimed, “When magic begins!” Then he snuggled back down, saying, “A story about when magic begins afwwfl s fllfh sllghh,” and went back to sleep, leaving me lying there going, “NO, WAIT, STOP, I WANT TO HEAR THIS ONE!!!”

This morning, ( Read more... )

This project has been on my "winter task list" for years. Maybe you'll inspire me to finally get around to weeding through decades of pictures I mostly don't want anymore. (Seriously--I was married in 1984 and divorced in 1987...how many pictures of the damned wedding do I need?)

And I want to hear that story too!

Now that I caught up on several other projects around the house, my next/current project is similar -- I have a ginormous stack of pictures and other scrapbooky things that have been piling up in a corner. So I've bought another scrapbook, I've trimmed up a bunch of small bits of paper to use as labels and am determined to commence going backwards in the book, starting with the most recent stuff and working my way backwards, labelling as I go. I'd also like to print some of my digital photos along the way, which may or may not happen...

I concluded that that was too ambitious for me. My first stage has been just going through the goddamn things and culling them as ruthlessly as I could. Next I will loosely sort them and put them into albums, and after that, work on scanning them. :)

someday, I'd love to scan my photos in, but i'd need a scanner and a good place to put it where I could do scanning without having to stand the whole time.

I figure I could do just a few pages or sections at a time, while also watching TV or something. While I don't have a toddler, I do have a very helpful kitten that keeps me from being able to lay things out on surfaces to do any major organizing of things. ;) I imagine you have a similar obstacle in your story-telling-tease of a son. :) (which, by the way, is your payback for teasing your readers as you did reviews of Shaman Rises.....)

I need to do something similar. I have family photographs showing depressed, bored people, and I both want to and not want to get rid of. I mean, family (which is shrinking).

Alex did something similar one night. But after several false starts my little 4 year said "I really need to find a job" before falling over still asleep. I would love to peek inside his head.

Magic began, late one night, when a half-mumbled sentence trying to escape from the dream realm into reality actually succeeded and flew into the real world. Most houses a dream could find itself in would have killed it immediately, but this one had an atmosphere full of ideas and books, and so instead of a quick death brought on by the chill of apathy, the magic found a cozy warm nook and began to grow ever larger, until at last it began to influence the world around it...

:)

Sounds like Indy is getting raised right ;)
