more media plans :)

I just discovered Ron Perlman is on Twitter (he’s perlmutations, since the resounding response from my Twitter feed was WHAT WHERE?!) and this has somehow immediately blown out of control into an 2014 International Re-Watch Beauty and the Beast-fest, so, y’know, if you’ve been meaning to do that, we’ll be doing that next year. An episode a week, ( Read more... )

beauty and the beast, reading, books

Or you could do what I've been doing with the Dragon Age novels over on that community, and break the books up into weekly chunks so that by the end of the month, the entire novel will have been read. I think it'd be easier to discuss it in smaller units than ENTIRE NOVEL, and would also build in a motivation to get some reading done every week.

Or, well, at least I think it would serve ME better (and I can only guess it might help other people as well. Sorta like homework, except voluntary).

I don't know what The Summer Tree's chapter count is, but if there's, say, 40, maybe 10 chapters a week? Etc.

That's a clever idea that I would almost certainly totally fail to follow through with, as I'm pretty well fundamentally incapable of Not Reading Ahead. I could probably do a weekly post for people to talk about Up To Chapter 10 or whatever, though, which would accomplish essentially the same thing!

Haha. :) Yeah, see, your idea to post when you're done means you'd get it up on January 3rd and then me with my office job and knitting commitments would sit there dismayed and just give up because I'd be so far behind I couldn't even begin to catch up. :D

There's no reason you can't read ahead, and maybe even schedule your posts so you're writing them with the chapters fresh in your mind or something (again, something else I've been doing with the Dragon Age novels in order to try to keep up on it, something I failed miserably at with the last one).

And then you could go back to writing and watching BatB for the next 28 days. ;)

Well, the 3-day thing was why I thought maybe a post at the beginning of the next month (although honestly, I read almost nothing that fast anymore, thank you child...!), but weekly, yes, scheduled posts ahead, yeah. I can probably manage that. <3

I will never stop loving that icon. :)

I have actually had Summer Tree in my TBR pile for... uh...years. This might be the motivation I need to finally crack it open.

I like the idea of reading with a group. I've never done it before. Like you, once I start, I'll probably keep going until I've inhaled the whole thing. The books are available from The Book Depository, so as soon as I get my next month's money, I'll order the 1st.

How exciting.
