First I had the Adventures in Airline Tickets, which I will not go into except to say I’ll be making an early-season batch of fudge to send off to people who, while admittedly doing nothing more than their job, did it with grace and humour and helped me immesurably.

I also hadn't realized that Alan was the one who suggested the tour, but boy, I'm glad he did!
And, in a total small-world thing, I stopped off for take-out on my way home last night and ran into a couple of friends. I told them about this weekend and Ben's work, and when I mentioned de-extinction and his TED talk, their 10-year-old son piped up that he'd seen Ben's talk and could succinctly explain the idea of de-extinction and where they were getting the DNA. Blew my mind, it did.
