Wow--I feel so special! Now, if you could just get me a fabulous Irish boyfriend... (Since you're being so obliging.) All this photography posting is inspiring me. I was out taking pictures in the yard and garden (none so nice as yours) and thought of you :-)

I'm not sure what it is about those birds, but I really love them. They're kind of ugly-cute.

I'm off to post cute-cute pictures of cats on my blog for Feline Friday. Thanks for giving me the bird(s)!

And try aloe gel for your sunburn. It's a miracle in a tube.

Yes, I am wise in the ways of aloe vera. :)

I'll look for a nice Irish boyfriend for you, but no promises. :)

Hey--how hard could it be to find a guy who want to date a woman who has five cats, is a witch, and often disappears in to a corner for hours to write? And, of course, a man who wants to move to the middle of nowhere USA. Barely a challenge at all. (And while we're at it, if you could make him look like Pierce Brosden...)

I love big birds. There's just something about them that makes them clear how alien they are. We have wild cranes here that are about four feet tall, and when they walk near you or use the sidewalk they really strike you with how... unlikely they are.

the best thing about hornbills in the wild, is their blithe conviction that y'know, basically hitting the tree and not actually falling out again constitutes a successful landing. It's hilarious to watch.

*laughs* I didn't know that.

That is a very unimpressed bird. It could appear in an unimpressed bird is unimpressed macro.

She was so not into him, and he was showing off *so* hard for her. :)

They are the flirtiest man birds out there. My zoo has one, sadly he has no lady friends. He flirts with everything that moves.

great shots!

It's the eyelashes. Anything with eyelashes like that must flirt!
