four things make a performance post

I admit I’m taking a certain amount of glee from watching the horror of the Red Wedding unfold across my Facebook page (mostly Facebook; in other places the geek quotient is higher and more people knew what was coming). Bahahaha. :)

Oh, I forgot to mention the ridiculously cool birthday present I got. One of my friends is a performance artist, and ( Read more... )

The Red Wedding?

Ah, I did wonder what the sharp intake of breath was all about. We're horrendously years behind on watching, having watched one or two episodes of our Series 1 boxed set. (We have series 2 on DVD too, since our chances of catching up to real time on the broadcasts are rather low.)

We've watched 4 episodes of s1, I think, and ended with Catelyn arresting Tyrion, at which point things go irrevocably to hell and we haven't been emotionally prepared to watch it because we *know* what's coming next. :)

A lot of it really is tragedy in the traditional sense - that inevitable unfolding of the results of people's decisions, with no particular prospect of a happy ending. (Not that a happy ending is possible for all characters simultaneously anyway.)

I didn't make it all the way through Episode 1 Season 1 because I knew what was coming...

I quite like Matt Smith, and will be sorry to see him go.

I'll admit. I haven't read the books. I can put up with a lot more blood, violence, and sex from something I watch than something I read. That said, I'm pretty good at reading plot lines. I randomly decided to watch Sunday's episode on Monday despite having missed the previous four. Yeah, it was a bit epic.

My thoughts about the casting of 12 are pretty much in line with yours.
