My hair is so thin and fine that anything past the nape of my neck would look like a rat tail if I had hair that long and I tried to braid it. I was hoping that I'd have fabulous hair being pregnant, but it's still the same frizzy hot mess as it's always been. :P

Pick up a pair of Norwegian Army M77 boots.
3.5 decades of conscripts have used them...
(I prefer them over most other boots. Walking, hiking, scootering about, bicycling, skiing... )
Coarse-patterned sole of 'vibram' rubber cast directly onto the leather.
If they're well-treated you an stand in a dam for 30 minutes before water seeps through.
(Well-treated = polishing them with Kiwi black polish often.)
EDIT:

(They skip the lowest hooks because it has been shown that tying them too tightly may put undue pressure on the achilles tendons and cause inflammation or other nastier problems. This is more important for those who are out and about all day, though)

I try & fail making a proper braid -- but I do braid under. Until I try to do a braid on either side of my head. When I try to braid on the right side of my head (I'm right handed) -- I braid over & cannot stop from doing it. :)
Darn it -- there are robot vacuums -- can't we get a robot hair braider? I know they have Barbie toys that do a simple twisty thing. :P
