Picoreview: The Boss puts on a good show. Even if I knew exactly four songs, all hits from the 80s, I’m damned glad we went to the Springsteen concert. It was fun, he was great, he lifted a 7 year old kid up onto the stage to sing with him, and it is my recollection that in the 80s, aside from a moderate musical talent, he was also known for really ( Read more... )

I am with you and your cinema neighbour!

The Boss was in Oslo this weekend, with concert on saturday.
(No, I didn't have ticket, and I don't have a ticket for todays show in Bergen, either.)

He did stop an extra day in Oslo, though, and together with Little Steven he played 'We Shall Overcome' on the 1year memorial of the Utøya shootings.

I'm glad you enjoyed him! I think we all have that shortlist of performers, writers, actors that are so near and dear to one's heart that, if a good friend doesn't at least appreciate them when seriously exposed, something is wrong with the world. Like, "If you don't understand the beauty of /this/, how can you understand /me/?" It's not quite rational, but there you go.

I also have an irrationally hard time when people say they didn't like Watership Down. Or don't like the Muppets.

I get annoyed by the Proctor & Gambel ads that we get here too -- the proud sponsor of Olympic moms everywhere. *rolls eyes* same reason as you and your neighbor got peeved.
