An artist friend of mine on Facebook posted lyrics from a Jon Bon Jovi (as opposed to Bon Jovi, and yes, there is a difference) song as his status yesterday. I posted another line from the song, which is really one of those that you probably have to be a fairly dedicated JBJ fan to recognize (it’s “Santa Fe” from the Young Guns II album Blaze of ( Read more... )

I am apparently missing some good stuff on FB.
"Santa Fe" is my favorite song off of his Young Guns album which is one of my favorite albums of all time (because I am a dork, that's why...and PROUD OF IT!).
"Bang a Drum" also ranks really high up there for me as well and "Dyin' Ain't Much of a Livin'."
My CD is actually melted as evidently, they used poor quality pigment to print it, it used to have Jon on the cover with his guitar but it now looks a bit more like a Rorschach inkblot. -_-
Still, plays, though. Thank heavens it still plays.

I listened to the Blaze of Glory soundtrack a lot when I was writing my first published novel (a western bodice-ripper). I also listened to Desperado a lot.

...

I want that GGK novel but so far out of my price range.

Lions of Al-Rassan is one of the best novels I've ever read. In any genre. Heck, one of the reasons I love my boyfriend is that I loaned him that novel and HE cried at the end too.

*laughs* LIONS is far and away my least favorite of GGK's books. I hate the ending so much I won't re-read the book, although I loved it right up til the last chapter. I feel the wrong man died, and that GGK knew it and tried to obfuscate the fact, but I also realize that this is a death match topic, and am content to leave it at being amused how it seems that book among all of GGK's is the most divisive. :)
