I wrote the end of the book today. Sadly, I didn’t write all the bits leading up to the end of the book, but another 4500 word day tomorrow like today was and I ought to be pretty much done. Then Wednesday is full of errands and I can do revisions Thursday and Friday and turn it in.

Then I get to take the weekend off and start all over again on ( Read more... )

Can I just point out that your kitty-icon - being a cat, and therefore sensible except when foolish - is choosing to go *headcarpet*, 'cos it's softer?

You could learn from this.

Also, you are bonkers. Me, I shall finish the umpty-fiddleth revision on HIDDEN CITIES in the next few days, if this bug doesn't lay me out altogether - and then no, I shall not start all over again with a new one, no. I shall go to California. For a month. You could learn from this, too.

I would far rather finish this book and go to California for a month than pursue my actual schedule!

And I'll write up the cinnamon roll recipe, yes. :) Though usually what I do is lop off a chunk of a 2-pound loaf of white bread dough, roll it out, spread it with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins and walnuts, roll it up, cut it up, and bake 'em for 20 minutes or so at 150C. Then stir icing sugar, softened/melted butter and a splash of milk together to make a drippy icing and pour it over the rolls before eating them. :)

Excellent. Come to California. Karen won't mind squeezing in another...

Heh. Sorry. *stops teasing*

Thank you for the cinnamon roll guidance. I found a little cafe in Taipei that made the world's perfect cinnamon roll, and I've been trying haphazardly to recreate it ever since; every time I find someone confident in making them, I always want method. Sooner or later I'll figure it out...

*impish grin* You're exhausted, sure, but isn't it great? You're doing great work that you love, and making a living at it. :)

Well, the being exhausted part isn't so great, no. The job, though, yeah, pretty much rules from orbit. :)
