concerts & junk food

It isn’t particularly easy to travel, even short distances like into Dublin and back, without eating an incredible amount of junk food. Bus stations and things don’t have a lot that’s especially good for you, or not laden with sugar. heh Sorry to laugh, but I know exactly what you went through. I've seen Nickelback live three or four times and they do that beer stunt Every Single Time. I've learned not to stand too close unless I want to go home sticky and smelly.

I've been too old for that shit for years. I was offered GA tickets to see one of my favorite performers and I said no -- if I don't have a confirmed seat, even with craptastic view lines, I'm not going. Very sad.

Is it an age thing?
I've never liked most rock concerts because of the behaviors Kit described above.

Now orchestra---less beer throwing at symphonies...

I remember years ago seeing that some concert series-Family Values, maybe?-that was getting some negative press had added a "parents area." The kids could go to the show, but in what was basically a converted skybox, the parents could wait in comfort while still hearing/seeing at a distance.

All I knew was that if I ever went to a show, I was hanging out with the moms and dads as there was no way I wanted to deal with those crowds. I still think that's the perfect way to see a show.

the not wanting to be in the General Admission line-up-and-wait, justle-for-position thing is, for me anyway. Once I would ahve been perfectly willing to stand all night long to see certain performers. Now? Not so much.

The only time I've ever seen beer thrown was at a hockey game. I may follow a different sort of bands than mizkit. *grin*

I remember as a teenger seeing a Warrant/Poison concert. It was one of those where when they opened the doors you ran for a spot on the floor.
Nowdays I prefer to go to the Peace Center and see a musical.

Isn't a shame that when the time finally comes when you have time and money to go to concerts... you feel too bloody old going?

Thats how I've felt at the past few concerts I've gone to.
