Ok, Chance #5 is finished. This is good, because it's the last issue Ardian's going to be able to draw, due to him having gone off and gotten a real job with the Dabel Brothers. I wanted to be able to finish the storyline with his artwork, so I ended up changing the end of the story (which needed to be changed because the story itself had strayed ( Read more... )

There is a big difference.

The volume of work you're able to do in a year just amazes me. I think I've done about 75,000 words this year (five books at ca. 15,000 words apiece), and the last 45,000 have about killed me--although, when I think about it, that had to do more with research issues than with the actual writing. But still. 269,400 words is no mean feat; I hope you give yourself credit for it--and a treat (seems to me you've earned one)!

Probably not enough. A friend of mine once dredged up a quote to the effect of: "Others judge us by what we do; we judge ourselves by what we think we can do." I seem to do that, and tend to be sort of intellectually aware that a quarter of a million words+ is really quite respectable, but it often seems to me like I'm sort of dinking around wasting time.
