oh woe, domains

For those of you who come in through the mizkit domain: yes, I know it's down, and I'm trying to get it fixed. Of course, if you come in through mizkit.com, you're not seeing this anyway.

And now dithering about domain names... )

There's always the options of signing up as a reseller account with the registrar of your choice to maintain the list at a discount -- or to horde it over friends who haven't made the great leap from web designer to illustrious literary figure...OK, so maybe I'm a bigger fan than history has yet to see you for.

Groovy domains, even if the takeachance.org immediately has me thinking of another author, Karen Chance, rather than anything with actual risks.

I'm glad you posted this here, though, 'cause I went to log in to uncatchable and post that we got here okay and ... what do you mean it's gone? I also can't get to the website of the guy who lives a couple miles away, who has a webcam, so that I can see if (at least in theory) our house still has power, 'cause I hear that there are power outages in Milwaukee, so I was a little worried. But hey, Kit's got it under control. :)

Yeah, this mess would probably be me. For some reason, the hosting company decided to bill me for the entirety of the account instead of splitting mine off into my own account and I wasn't thinking when I mailed them to say, "I have no idea what this stuff is, but I don't think it's mine." As it shows up on my AmEx, there's no way to tell what's what else I would've caught this a lot sooner.

The Billing Dude won't be able to fully fix this situation for the next three days, but I'll make sure to let him know there are other people involved and that you'd like your site back thankyew.

Er, Merry Christmas anyway.

It wasn't your fault at all. It was theirs. They entirely screwed up, the dipshits.

Merry Christmas to you too. :)
