This is me, *so* avoiding going to work. I was *forced* to go buy colored pencils, because the Del Rey edits are requested in pencil, and (because I'm crap with colored pencils artistically) I didn't own any. So I had to go buy some. That's not fair. You can't love a book you're copy-editing. You have to hate it by then, and be miserable. It's contractual...

Well, after the eighteenth time I'd read their letter of "how to do this to make us happy" I did notice it said "either lead or a color different from the CE's color", so I didn't, apparently, actually *have* to go out and get colored pencils after all.

But any excuse not to work, you know. :)

When I do my copy edits, I usually put in 2-3 12 hour days (at least). It ain't like mending.

Glad the Del Rey book looks better and that you like it. Someday, in the far, far future I may like Keepers of the Flame again, though just knowing some choreography mistakes must have crept in makes me squirm...
