Start off by having known me for ten or fifteen years... :)

Actually, once in a *great* while I'll post on my LJ looking for a couple of can-you-read-it-now readers (and then, yes, I get swamped), but I'm a little cautious in who I release electronic versions of my manuscripts to. I have a handful of people who have specific Things that they have issues with when they read (agrimony, above, for example, has this real thing about pacing, and so if I get notes from her saying "agh the pacing is awful" it probably is, and janne picks up on repetitive phrases), and it's very handy for me as a writer to have an idea of what areas my test readers are going to be looking at.

You have no idea how odd I find it to have people want to volunteer, though. :)
