I've finished another chapter in the HOUSE OF CARDS revisions and and I know what to do next. I also broke 200 pages on the revised manuscript and am a couple thousand words shy of 50K. I'm also about 15 pages behind where I was at the same chapter in the original manuscript, but what one might delicately call "a whole fucking shitload" of stuff ( Read more... )

That is very pretty. As a basic rule: if it's original artwork only, you need permission from the artist before you post it; but if it's the whole cover with text & blurb and so forth, it's your publisher's property in that condition and it's generally okay to post it.

Yeah, my question regarding it is that it's still got some color balancing to be done and stuff, so it's not the Final Sanctioned Version. I may have to take it down Monday, but easier to get forgiveness than permission and all that, you know. :)

WOW, fabulous cover... and as for ms. pages, I always revise the Heart books DOWN so they don't take up a ream of paper, so they are usually in the 490s -- Quest was 498 and the ream was short, I really remember that! And the Luna books run about 600. Sigh, I write l=o=n=g. If I wrote shorter I could write MORE books....grrr... I think that's that envy thing you talked about earlier.

Need to train myself to write short!

I actually had a lot of fun writing the Cate Dermody books, which were 80K. I did, however, keep thinking, "I could make this so much better if I just had another 10,000 words...!"
