When I was having Serious Physiotherapy, my therapist (also called Karen) would cause me the most pain I've ever endured in my life, then attach the four giant nozzles of her hyper-TENS machine to my back and turn it on low and say "Tell me when it gets too much" and I'd say "Oh, come on, you know how this works - just dial it all the way up to maximum," and she would do that, and I would lie there under the tingly electrical impulses - and fall entirely reliably asleep, every time.

Also, new stories, yay! I am really blocked on the novel I am writing now (you know that little spin-y thing you get on your computer when it is trying to think and failing? pretty much my brain, when I'm trying to write). I'm hoping a brainstorming session with a friend will jump start me...
