The spotty child is on the road to recovery. There weren’t any new spots yesterday, just old ones increasing in awfulness, and today they are slightly fewer in number.

I honestly can't believe how quickly you've unpacked. It always takes us months, because we reach a certain point and everything after that is "would be nice" and there's just a certain level of clutter that surrounds us.

We always have at least one bookcase that is basically full of crap, because we haven't any better place to put the crap. At least one.

I have a great deal of practice at unpacking, at this point. :} The trick is to have a housewarming party almost immediately after moving, so you really have to get your ass in gear.

Even so, as the travails of this blog have indicated, I did not get as unpacked as I'd hoped to. :}

I have, believe it or not, dealt with That Bookcase. I don't know what came over me. :)

endless circle of hell that is “it’s not possible to have too many books” and “WE HAVE TOO GODDAMN MANY BOOKS.”

coupled with "NEED MORE BOOKCASES" ... and since its a circle of Hell, it will be filled with the wrong bookcases..

I'm impressed. We're still in progress--well, in part because One Set of Things is 350 miles away from The Other Set of Things, and, well, after painting and cleaning and all...we're tired. Plus we are still Doing Things like installing a woodstove, and the basement still needs to be cleaned (oil furnace was originally coal furnace, and, well, no one's cleaned up the rafters and walls from The Coal Era). We've got it partially cleaned, but it's a work in progress.
