Birthday prompt #3 - due South/Sandman, snow

Jan 07, 2011 09:44

Today's ficlet comes from a prompt given to me by luzula, and combines due South with Neil Gaiman's Sandman series. She asked for anything with the Endless, then suggested Bob and Death. Seemed like a fitting match, so I ran with it.

Ah, sweet. Death was always my favorite of the Endless.

Lovely job combining the two, sweetie!

Thank you, aka!

Death was always my favorite of the Endless.

For me, it's a tie between Death and Delirium. Partly because of how the rest shift their behavior when Delirium's around, become less about themselves.

So glad this worked for you.

Oh yay! I love this. Bob would so be worried that she'd be cold. *g* And I like their conversation, too, and Bob inviting her to have tea.

Soooooo glad you like this, luz! It was great fun to write, to put Bob off kilter like that.

Thank you again for the terrific prompt!

Thank you so much, luce! I was a real-time Sandman reader too, and oh do I remember waiting not-so-patiently for each issue.

As far as non-Endless characters, I have to say Cain and Abel were my favorites (plus Gregory, Goldie and the House itself). I love Neil Gaiman more than I can express for bringing the House Of Mystery (and the Weird sisters) to his 'verse, and making them serious characters, rather than solely comedic intros to horror comics.

And I too love Matthew - one of my fave t-shirts is the panel where he's saying goodbye to Morpheus and says "Thanks for letting me be your raven. And, you know, your friend."
