Eeee! I had no idea they were making a movie! The kid playing Max is so cute! Even if I didn't have my niece and nephew to take, I'd go see it myself anyway. It was one of my favorite books from childhood. I can't wait to see how they expanded it into a full length movie!
I know I can't wait. I remember some gossip about 6 months ago about the studio demanding re-shoots, but this is the first I've seen any of the footage. It looks really cool.
I had the same reservations. The book is very short. Stretching it to a movie is going to require a lot of padding with original material, which can be very tricky. But it looks like Spike Jonze may have pulled it off. It looks seriously cool.
At the very least it looks like Spike Jonze captured the spirit of the book. I'm encouraged. Even if the movie ends up not being great, it looks interesting. I can't wait.
