OMG! What a game. Sits on hands. I have no words.

Zidane, WTF. Seriously.

And PKs again.

It wasn't the result I wanted, but what an entertaining match.

it certainly is ten times more interesting than american football, which is more or less just a bunch of standing around, 30secs of tackling, more standing around, moving again, and yet more standing around. *snores*

I know. I like college football. But the NFL is duller than watching golf sometimes.

No kidding! Zidane is pretty much the love of my life and to see him act in such an unclassy and unnecessary way? Not. On.

But you're totally right! It was twelve kinds of exciting!

It was definitely a memorable match. I'm still stunned though.

I hope the entire French team will smack Zidane on the head. How could he do something like that so shortly before the end, and hope that his team wouldn't be shocked and influenced by it by the penalties? Everybody knows that Italy sucks at penalties.

GRRR! There was only one team I didn't want to win, and at the end, it had to be them.

None of the teams I rooted for won. It was a bad world cup for me.:(

I can't imagine what it's like in the French locker room right now. I'm curious to see what they say to the press.

Ah well, c'est la vie... ;)

I'm wondering what the Italian guy could possibly have said to make a seasoned player like Zidane lose it like that. (I don't mean that as an excuse for this kind of behaviour, I'm just really curious.)

I know, I'm curious to hear what he has to say. He's going to have to talk to the press at some point.

And because everything has to relate to HP, my husband and I were talking about how it was like Harry losing it and punching Draco at the end of the Quidditch match in OotP, because Draco was ragging on the Weasleys.

Yes, I hate to say it, but that was a purely Slytherin trick - say something that you know will make the great star lose it and get sent off... works both in HP and RL, it seems.

Yep, yep, yep.

Yeah, I'm STILL BLOWN AWAY by that. Am sad he ended his career this way, man. He's not even on the field - and he shouldn't be.

But I'm pleased Italy won - and now I can stop wringing my hands.

I know, it is sad to end a career that way. He could have been the hero even if they didn't win, but now he's the goat.
