Movie Fail

I had been pretty excited to watchTinker Tailor Soldier Spy when it came out. I didn't but expected I'd catch it on cable, which culminated in me watching it this evening. I had been keen particularly because cloak and dagger spy stuff was beloved in my house growing up. I had a fair number of books on tape with Ken Follet and John Le Carre. ( Read more... )

Thought I had provided adequate warning on the pacing of TTSS, though I didn't realize the triggery issues.

You almost certainly warned me about the pacing, but that did not get past the buffer into the memory file.

Triggers, well. Mine aren't always going to be yours and vice versa. Of course. They weren't super-traumatic, but they were not fun and I'm glad I didn't bother to finish the film.

Nod. While we were on the trip to NY Pygment and I started to watch Munich which, given the intense interest in the subject matter and the people involved (Kushner writing, Bana and Craig acting) ought to have been great. But it went on and on and moved so slowly that we kind of gave up. Still haven't gone back to finish it, which is highly unusual for me.
