That's so amazing. I don't think it sounded soap-boxy or anything like that. It sounds like you have found a way to reach out to the people you see on a daily basis that is meaningful to all involved.
Thanks- It definitely taps into that thing of doing something for the community on the most local and basic level.
I mean! I am a hugely privileged person with an almost always full fridge. And it SUCKS that these people don't have anyone or anywhere meaningful to go.
That's pretty awesome. I haven't done it in way too long, but that was something I used to do often as well. There'd be someone hanging out right outside where I was running in to grab a sandwich, and I'd have it wrapped in two pieces so I could give them half. Or I'd buy them a coffee or something when I was on my way in. It felt nice, but wasn't one of those things I felt like i needed to *talk* about, so to speak.
But hey, quick today-thought. I have to go to Ann Taylor in Fanueil Hall at some point and look at a particular dress that may or may not become The Wedding Dress. Would you be willing to come with? I'd be heading over to the Park Street area around 12:30ish.
We DID! All the Bridesmaid dresses, and my wedding dress, ACCOMPLISHED. Alas, I also had an incident of Running in Dansko Sandals After Drinking Wine and Not Eating, which has resulted in a sprained ankle today. But I have pretty dresses, for which I'm grateful.
