I hated this movie with a bloody passion, to the point where I turned it off in the middle of an 8 hour flight coming home from England. Nearly everyone else in the world loved it, so I had to force my boy to watch it, because he usually likes those artsy angsty things ( Read more... )

HAhhaah! There's a miniscule group of us. My friend Shane and his wife despised it also.
I suppose if the main characters were trying to act like spineless nobodies and cock asses, then the acting was great!

There are only a very FEW movies that were as bad or (gasp) worse than "Sideways." One was "Gossford Park." Another was "The English Patient" which was descriibed accurately as 'an unwatchable movie made from an unreadable book' by the quotable Daniel Wilkinson.

as someone who has never drank not only was it stupid. The amount of pathetic the guy was in particular, but I had no clue what all the jabber about the wine was. Pinot this and merlot that... fuckers.

We won't hold it against Art. I also tried to watch The Seventh Seal, which was in it's own 50's, Swedish, way, okay. But eventually I got tired of all the whispering in Swedish. It wasn't any Seven Samurai or Yojimbo, that's for sure.
