The anime is based off a series of books, about a traveller named Kino who travels on a motorrad (small motorcycle) to different places. Kino never stays for more than three days in a place, and she moves on to travel and learn about the world. It's thoughtful little anime, really well-written and beautifully-executed. I borrowed the DVDs from a friend, I dunno if it's available here. :>
