Incredible food, as usual! I have so many comments so I'll list them down: 1.) Congratulations on the car! Big milestone! 2.) I also can't wait to see The Unholy, even if I'm normally afraid of horror films! 3.) ~Potentially contentious question~: So, where can I find the best satay?
The Unholy was pretty good. Not that scary actually.
haha I think there are quite a few good ones to find in hawker centers. One of my favorite is at Toa Payoh lorong 8 market. The stalls at Satay Street at Lao Pat Sat is actually quite good too!
No excuse then - you will need to decide to get your license. Even if you can get around easily without driving, you have a car and it is a useful skill. Good luck!
Beautiful car! We're getting a car loaned to us for the year there, but I personally hate driving and will be on public transport. ;) I suppose it might be nice to have for day trips out?
"3) Newton food market doesnt have the best satay." This made me laugh.
It reminds me how one of my friends from Shanghai who works for English First came here on a company trip and they kept giving her all these 'Australian' meals that were just so many steaks, like people in Australia eat steak for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She begged me to take her to a restaurant with vegetables so we got a big platter from a Greek restaurant because we actually do have a huge amount of Greek people living here. Plus this area is near the ocean, so a seafood meal would make more sense locally as well.
Oh! It would be nice to have a car to get around for family outings/trips to bigger supermarkets to buy a lot of things etc. I would say that a car isn't a must in Singapore, but it is a great convenience when travelling with children, or a lot of groceries etc.
