I'm glad Singapore is being proactive and taking preventative measures.

I'm sorry to hear about the swab experience! Hopefully you won't have to do it again.

congrats on the car :)

Thanks!! Yea! I'm glad Singapore is being proactive and taking lots of preventive measures. I feel like the measures might get even stricter but thankfully everyone is cooperative and mostly following the rules (Except for some teens and kiddos)

That swab sounds terrible!!

I know some of my other LJ friends have been tested before, but they never described it in detail. I am so happy i haven't had to get tested. I hope i can continue to avoid it, it sounds like something from a horror movie.

My husband, sister and other friends/colleagues had experienced it before and most of them described as not painful but very uncomfortable, which I would so agree.

It is something I hope non one else has to go through... but that said with cases on the rise in Asia... I think swabbing/testing/vaccinating will continue to the the norm for a while..

A Cerato! I think that's called a Forte here. B and I had one from 2010-2015. We drove the living SHIT out of it (13k miles when purchased, 160k miles when traded in). We've bought nothing but Korean cars since

Also, 12 year olds can get the vaccine in our state, there's ass tons of open appointments...sooOOOOoooooo they've been letting us run rampant and unmasked if we pinky swear we've had our jab. Which might bite us in the ass later, but there's plenty of open ICU beds I guess

Wow, that's pretty fast-track for vaccination!

I'm still waiting for my turn.. hopefully I can get it sometime next month!

ooo! My husband and I are not familiar with cars, so we got recommendations from friends and family. Glad that we're in for a good ride!

Four swabs? I haven’t had one, but I had not heard about anyone getting more than one here. Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you! I'm slowly on the path to recovery!
Yea! I was so shocked also when the tester said 4 swabs.
My sister only had 1 swab previously in one nostril, and my husband had 2 swabs in each nostril.. so I was genuinely shocked and too shell-shocked to ask why they needed 4 swabs...

It's so interesting to read about how things are done in other countries. I guess in Europe we know about our neighbor countries as it's all over the news, but countries outside of the EU we don't hear much about aside from maybe the U.S ( ... )

I totally understand the concnerns. I'm still not sure myself to be honest ....

I guess they had no other choice. They wanted to start to open up things slowly and only certain people are allowed to enter then such as people who already had the virus, people who got vaccinated and those who test negative. As for a quick shopping tour or the visit of a restaurant you can't always do a PCR test where the result might take 72h+, that's what they came up with ....

Mind you, those swab tests aren't as accurate and especially those you do at home might not be accurate, but those don't count for official ocassions such as restaurant visits. Those are just for your personal testing if you want to meet up with friends and make sure you don't have the virus....
