Heroesverse (AU-ish) - For Peter

It had taken him a little while to work up the nerve (and the necessary materials) to show up at Peter's door.

But he's there now, with a neatly wrapped package. He adjusts his glasses and casts a wary glance over his shoulder, closing his eyes and focusing on the telltale, soothing tick coming from inside the box.

He lifts his hand and knocks.

Peter's dozing, just a little, when he registers the knock. He opens his eyes, and--

Gabriel.

He's up and moving almost before he realises it.

He opens the door and smiles.

"Gabriel. Come on in."

"I ... brought you a clock." Which would be evident by the ticking box, he knows, but he just feels it's proper to announce something like that.

His mouth twists into a slight grin and he steps inside.

It makes him smile more.

"I could use one," he admits. He shuts the door behind Gabriel.

"And this one is the best." He's certain of this, because he conditioned it himself.

And because it was his father's, once upon a time. He finds a nearby table to set the parcel down on top of.
