44 likes being outside, too.

The horses smell tasty, but she probably couldn't eat a whole one by herself, and 91 isn't here.

She doesn't really mean to sneak up on Echo, but the grass is tall and she is not and she moves silently out of habit. So one moment there doesn't seem to be anyone around, and the next, there is a soft rustle and a little face peeking out between the tall stalks.

Echo looks up at the rustle, surprised.

"--Hello!"

"Hello," she agrees.

"I didn't hear you come up."

Bruce might or might not recognize the man who's relaxing with a bottle of beer on a couch by the fire. Actually he's relaxing with several bottles of beer, but only one of them still has beer in it.

His shirt says ENGINEERS DO IT WITH PRECISION in very blue text on very black fabric.

Any minute now he'll look up and see what the cat just dragged in. Well, probably. Since when does Tony Stark pay attention to his surroundings?

Bruce swallows, looking around for a bartender, or a bouncer, or anyone else who might be about to kick him out.

No, no, and no.

Half a minute goes by.

He looks up.

The guy looks sort of familiar, but Bruce can't place it at the moment. There are more pressing issues.

"Hi," he croaks, and clears his throat. "Sorry. Hi. Where am I?"

James doesn't really object when Milliways turns up in place of the loo during the Andy marathon. They're all having a blast, and the lost episodes are even better than promised, but the chance to walk off the stiffness from hours spent on the sofa is welcome.

So, post-loo, he goes out for a walk. It's lovely outside at Milliways today, and he's soaking it up when he sees the familiar figure over by the stables. After the excitement with Terry, he's glad to see her looking so calm, and he loses no time in making his way over.

Echo looks up when she hears footsteps, brightens, and waves.

--And looks briefly abstracted,

Now him, I like. So do I. He's a good soul. Shh-- He's smokin'. Shush!

and snorts before grinning at him.

"Hello!"

James grins back, wondering who it was sounding off in her head just now. No one upsetting, apparently, which is good.

"Hello, Echo," he says. "How are you?"

"I'm very well." She leans back on the pasture fence. "I haven't seen you in a while! How're you?"

Sameth hasn't seen K'Nex before, but he wants to figure out what Charles is making.

He's currently covered with a good bit of soot and grease from the forge when he comes over,

"What are you making?"

whatis_real May 21 2010, 19:21:14 UTC
"Already made," Charles says, without looking up. "All there in the potentialities."

"Really?"

Sameth leans closer to see if he can see all that it could be.

Charles blinks, and looks up from the table.

"They're metaphors," he clarifies, rather dry.

She hasn't found Vault 87 yet, but that's all right. She's closing in on it, she can feel it. And she's got Dogmeat back, which goes a long way. So Ellen's in a pretty good mood when she looks up and spots the barefooted, shirtless fellow in the doorway.

"Um," she says. "Are you all right, sir? You look, um... bad day?"

Bruce blinks at her, and then manages a weak, humorless smile and a nod.

"Bad night. Really -- long night."

(It's amazing how much slack people cut you if you can make them think you just got very, very drunk last night. Or mugged. Of course he did get attacked -- but no. Better not to think about gunfire right now.)

"I'm sorry to hear that. I know how that goes."

Usually there are wild animals involved. Sometimes mutants. Raiders are usually too busy with other vices to go out of their way to be violent at night.

"Hang on a moment-"

She's not wearing her duster at the moment, just the reinforced Vault 101 jumpsuit. The duster's close enough at hand to offer as a loan.

"Oh, thanks," he says, heartfelt and grateful, as he accepts the duster. "Thank you. It's, uh, it's pretty chilly around here."
