Well, maybe that paranoia is a little justified.

Not because of anything that might have happened on her side of the door, but because of the small man who's watching her from the ceiling, third eye glimmering with unnatural blue light.

Yep.

Dani trusts her instincts above all else; when the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end, she knows there's a reason why.

She looks to her left, first, then to her right. No one's around, no one's looking at her, so why -

She bites her lip and very, very slowly looks up.

When she spots Hiei and his glowing third eye, she grabs her gun and jumps out of her chair (and nearly trips over it in the process), then fumbles with the weapon before sort-of aiming it at his head.

"Who - what are you doing? Why are you watching me?"

Hiei doesn't move; his expression remains aloft and disinterested.

"Why not?"

He's the kind of person that has an infuriating drawl, placing sarcasm and emphasis on his words where there shouldn't be any.

She knows that look! That voice, too.

He reminds her of Ben.

This is not a good thing.

She sets her jaw and glares at him. "Because you shouldn't spy on people like that."
