In Milliways, that question can have any number of answers, none of which are ever boring. Devon still loves that about Milliways. It's never boring.

Devon cannot read the narration.

He can however, read the look on Chuck's face. He grins knowingly.

"Aw yeah, that's my little bro." He pauses, the grin fading.

"You're not really dating Sarah, right?"

Since she's his CIA handler and all. They haven't talked about it, but it seems like a pretty good way of keeping Sarah around to protect Chuck without people getting curious.

But if they really are dating, then of course Devon can't condone Chuck cheating on her. Not even at the end of the universe.

"-Wait, how'd you know-"

"I just figured," Devon explains, "that it might be a cover or something."

OH CRAP.

"Cover for what?"

"What? . . . oh, right. Not talking about that. Sorry, bro, you just get used to thinking of Milliways as different, you know?"

Sure, Devon knows that people from the same world can come in from different points of time, or even that people who know each other from home are really from slightly different versions of the same world, but he's never had to apply that knowledge to himself before. So it's not coming to mind at the moment.

Devon studies his brother-in-law with a slight frown.
