Shilo had always wanted siblings of her own. More accurately, perhaps, she'd always thought that having another person around the house who understood her father would have been nice, and considerably less lonely.
She watched the way the two people interacted, obviously familiar with each other, and ducked her head. Approaching the girl seemed like a terrible idea since she seemed apt to insult her and so, with a tentative smile, she cleared her throat and shifted foot to foot near the boy.
Eliot didn't have that much experience with the opposite sex (his sister most definitely did not count), so as he turned to her with a smile, it was a shy one. He might have been annoyed about the situation, but it probably wasn't this girl's fault. At least, it wasn't likely.
"Milliways?"
A thousand ways, was what it translated to, easy enough.
The shy smile actually served to make her relax considerably. She smoothed her hand through her hair for a moment and then nodded.
"Uh, yeah. It's -- it goes everywhere. Anywhere, if the people I've talked to here are to be believed. It's crazy." She suddenly remembered her manners and offered out her hand.
"I'm Shilo. From Earth," she added after a moment. "California."
The girl was nothing like Julie, no blitzing beauty set to sweep him off his feet (and wasn't that supposed to be the other way around?) but after having Julie leave him behind, he couldn't help but find this a little more, well, comfortable.
"Anywhere?"
One fleeting thought had him wondering if it ever opened out into a certain snow-covered village.
"U-uhm, I'm Eliot. From Earth too," or at least he was pretty sure of that. No one in the family had mentioned anything about being extraterrestrial.
"California too," which had him wondering why all the words in his head never seemed to translate to his mouth, "I mean, I'm also in California. From California. I don't suppose you've ever been to Del Sombra."
Most people hadn't. And after everything that'd happened, he wondered how much of a Del Sombra there was to go to.
"None of your business," Fiona said with a lift of her head, fingers twitching just a little. There was something strange about the girl in front of her. Not one of her family (either of them) but something.
Ben narrows his eyes, tilting his head. It isn't unusual for his daughter to look at him as if he were an insect. It's just everything else about this girl that's tipping him off.
Eliot was summarily ignored, by Sirius (in his muggle clothes, thank you very much) noticed Fiona immediately as he stepped into the bar from his latest ride.
He hung up the large black helmet on a nearby hook and strode over to the girl, grinning.
"You look like you could use a drink, love if you don't mind me saying so."
Fiona turned her head to see who might be speaking... and couldn't help the slight blush on her cheeks.
"I wouldn't mind a drink," she said, even though she didn't really want one. Her body would accept it now, but that didn't mean she had any desires in that direction.
He headed toward the bar with the assumption she'd follow and nodded to two vacant seats.
"I try not to buy things for a girl without at least knowing her name no matter how pretty she is," he tapped the bartop, "so do I get a name? I'm Sirius."

"Your name isn't Alex, is it?"

"Fiona. I don't even know an Alex."
Then again, she didn't know very many people.

Hopefully she didn't think he was being serious.

"Fiona.
"Sirius. The Dog Star."
It popped out, making her feel like a geek.
