Charlie has learned, over the past few weeks, that it takes little to please Elias--but when you do make an effort, the rewards are tremendous.

Elias...well...squeals in fanboy glee. There's just no other word for it. He sets the busboy tub aside, pulls off his apron, and pounces Charlie, straddling his lap and snogging him the minute the last note has faded away.

"Oh my gosh, that was beautiful, Charlie, you are SO awesome!"

More snogging. Hope Charlie doesn't need oxygen.

He's got good lung capacity. It's a singer thing.

"Thought you'd like that."

"I love it!"

He slides down to sit on Charlie's feet and give him a bit of room.

"Play it again, please? You sound so much like him!"

Charlie beams and starts again, with a little folkish-sounding introduction that he's worked out.

Home is behind
The world ahead
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadow
To the edge of night
Until the stars are all alight
Mist and shadow
Cloud and shade
All shall fade
All shall fade

It sounds melancholy and gentle, like a good folk song should. His voice isn't particularly clear or sweet, but he can carry the tune and reach the notes and that's enough to please him.
