There's a cute guy in that booth over there, and while he's not necessarily un-frustrating or whatever, at least he doesn't so much have a stick up his ass.
Also, he might've just sneakily sent a paper airplane in Tommy's direction bearing, when unfolded, a cartoon!Tommy. It's still a Thing.
Anakin's fascinated by the robotics project. He stops by Teddie's table to watch for a moment, forgetting all those pesky social rules that dictate he should at least say something. Those just get in the way.
Teddie's in her own little world anyway, fitting together the pieces of balsa wood and cardboard that transform her robot from little more than a box into a mechanical spider monstrosity!
...Or so she would hope. Mostly, it's just a mess right now, and it definitely doesn't look like any robot Anakin's ever seen.
"Well," she admits, "I'm building it off a kit for class, so those parts technically aren't supposed to move. I'm thinking if I attach some kind of metal brace to the legs, I might be able to cheat, and save myself a few parts, too? Like, extra servos and motor components."
A tall, dark, and handsome young non-human walks past, pauses, and says; "Did you check the current? If it's a little unstable that wobble will magnify itself."
He's eighteen, has not only his usual earrings in but also eyebrow, nose, and lip rings, and is full sized. Big boy, yes indeed. "No problem. I remember building things like that a couple years ago."
"I would've liked to build fully-working legs with servos and everything, but I didn't have the parts... and we're supposed to be basing it off this kit in class. I could probably get away with attacking some kind of metal brace that hooks into the rest of the..."
She looks up.
"...motor. Uh. Hi. Um."
He's hot. He's very hot, and Teddie blushes (in stages) when she looks up at his face.

{Happy to take the blame!}

Tommy is Confused!
(AKA, who in the hell sent this thing?)

...In retrospect, this is maybe not the best way to keep your secret identity as the Artful Dodger Mysterious Doodle Meister secret.

Cut to Tommy, sitting across from Bart. (The spaghetti was just a distraction anyway.)
"Nice skills, man," Tommy says, grinning.

"Do the moving parts work okay with those materials? I've never used wood for a droid before, guess it's good insulation though."

"Oh! No, I didn't, duh. Thanks. I completely missed that," she adds, dropping the hot glue gun to double check what the boy pointed out.
