I watched them come in, something not quite right about either of them. The girl, woman I guess, was obvious the caretaker of the two of them, but there was something to the older man, something... hidden. I moved to a nearer booth and waved to the man.

He caught sight of the hand and then the person attached to it and smiled -- a little tensely, as if trying to gauge whether the man was dangerous or not.

The one thing I can say about my family is you'll never get better training. I've got a face that can play a lot of roles, that's just natural, but I also know how to move and act and shift to play up one aspect or another for a part. Right now, after that tense look back, I'm doing the friendly teenager routine which is, hey, pretty close to the truth.

Minus the fact that I'm a Drood, of course.

I'd heard him, but the less it appeared I knew, the better.

"Yes, I think you could say that." He smiled -- friendly, but with the sort of discomfort that came from only having learned the movement in the past few years.
