You can tell that spending time at Milliways (and with Raz specifically; it's really hard to be withdrawn around her) has been good for him, because he doesn't just sit there and wonder silently into his beer, but actually gets up, hesitantly, thinking that at least he can give the guy a hand if he really hasn't been here before.

David Berman's live presence is more of an indication that this is the Nexus than anything else. It's jarring, yes, but he'd long ago resigned himself to sometimes meeting people he shouldn't. At least it isn't Eden this time.

He's completely ignoring the stutter, unlike the last time they met. "I've heard of people being stuck before. I wonder how these places decide that, who gets to go and who has to stay."
This was starting to look serious- he'd have to apologize to his mother when he got back.
He'd been looking up at the window while he was talking. When he finishes, his gaze slides back down to David, and he smiles again. "Sorry, I should introduce myself, shouldn't I? I'm Gabriel, good to meet you." He holds a hand out to shake.

She pauses on her way towards the fireplace, hands shoved in the pockets of her slightly battered blue jeans, and cocks her head at the spectacle of his fascination.

As he pulls his gaze down, he glances over to her. The vague smile stays on his face, but it sharpens into something less like awe and more like understanding. He doesn't know who she is, but it probably doesn't matter.
"Hello," he says, in a friendly enough manner. It's almost a question.
