"... you ask," says Gordon from down the Bar, unable to get any other words into the speech queue. "Hi, Barney."

Barney does yet another double take, almost disbelieving the voice. This quickly turns into just being stunned.

"Gordon? Gordon Freeman?" It sounds idiotic, but less so when the person whom you're speaking of has been gone for over a week in a post-apocalyptic world.

"...Is that really--holy shit, Gordon, you gave us one hell of a scare! We thought you were--habwbahow did you? I mean... and where's Alyx? Where have you two been all this time?!?"

"I'm sorry," Gordon says almost meekly. "The Nova Prospekt teleporter malfunctioned. We've been stuck here in this borderworld since, trying to get back- how long have we been gone?"

"Borderworld." Barney sounds pretty unsure of what that's supposed to mean, really.

"And you were gone for over a week, man! What happened over there, the Combine blow a gasket?"
