The look on the face of the latest arrival quite clearly reads, 'NO'. Or at least, it does for roughly a millisecond.

This is very much not HQ. The way Agent 99 reads it, this means that something has gone terribly wrong. Perhaps a hostage situation, given the number of people who happen to look like civilians.

A few seats down is a woman in a long brown robe, sipping a drink that looks rather scarily blue. At her hip is a strange tube, along with what looks like a gun. Padme Angela Skywalker, Jedi, is bored. But, oddly? She seems to look like 99.

"Oh you have got to be kidding me," Max says to himself.

She....

Could not have gotten here at a more inopportune time.

Slowly, Max slinks his way past her, runs up the stairs, changes from casual dress to suit, and carefully walks back down.

Oh god.

He has no idea how he's going to even begin to explain any of this.

"Hey, 99."

99 quickly turns, a very flat expression crossing her face at the sight of Max.

(Drinks out of nowhere are unfamiliar. Max, on the other hand, is not.)

"Max."

He glances away momentarily, then looks back at 99 with a very sheepish expression on his face.

"Hi."

"Max, what's going on?"
