Jack's leaning over a table nearby, a cup of coffee in his hands. His head doesn't feel much better at the moment. However, considering the look of confusion he's giving her mammoth book at the moment, he has a feeling his headache could be worse.

She looks up, catching his eye, and grins ruefully.

"It's worse than it looks. --Wait, I mean . . ."

A look at the book.

". . . No, I meant it's worse than it looks."

"What is it?" Jack asks, propping his head on one hand.

"My work. Directory, messaging, assignments, and encyclopedia all rolled up into one."

She lifts her beer bottle towards it in a wry toast. "Makes it hard to take a break, sometimes."

Someone not far from her is behind a stack of books... and she keeps making the odd cooing noise about something or another.

Nita's a librarian; she spends all day around books.

. . . Okay, but when it comes right down to it, that's because she loves them like fire loves air. She consumes them.

So it's not surprising that she leans back a little to crane her neck and try to read the titles of the books -- and maybe see what the cooing is all about.

Librarians unite!

The titles of Evangeline's books are rather bizarre and most of them are in languages that aren't English. Three of them are in demonic languages, one is in old English, and a few have no titles. She's reading one of those, a few illustrations visible.

They're not all that pleasant but they are visible.

. . . Ooooooooh.

The look on Nita's face is the kind generally associated with small children and sparkly objects. That language could be Icqi'welan, but it's definitely not.

She cranes a little farther, trying to decipher the words.
