"Teddy, honey--" The boy was crying again and it was for that reason that she stepped out of the kitchen to go and pick him up from the play pen ... or she would have done so if she hadn't stepped out into some other place entirely.

She tensed, glancing around for a long moment before she resolved to simply sit down and figure out where she was.

It's a voice he hasn't heard in years - and a face he hasn't seen in longer, when he does look up - but it's more than enough to snap Regulus out of his book. Whether she's actual family or at a universe's remove (as usual) remains to be seen, but either way, this... could be interesting.
"Do tell me this doesn't mean the rest of the family is going to start pouring in."
Here, Andromeda, have a not-exactly-cousin.

"Fair enough. Have things at least settled out somewhat, for you?"
That would be the closest thing to a silver lining, in any case.

"In a matter of speaking, I suppose." She takes another drag, "I have Teddy - my grandson - now."

The 'because his parents are dead' thing is mostly implied.

"Grandson?" That's also news.
"I take it that's why you were braced to turn around, at first."

She nods.

"He's starting to change his hair colour without noticing, I think it scares him. I'll have to keep him away from the mirrors for now."

Beat. "But he's survived the moon well enough, so there's that."

There, Regulus. Have some obscure clues about the boy's parentage.

"That ought to save him some trouble."
It gets a raised eyebrow, yes, but that's because as far as he knows, Dora never got past 'raging crush,' in his continuity's case.

"I'm sure he'll find trouble of his own." Just like his mother.

She shakes her head and arches her own brow right back. "Married," she explains.

"Ah. I don't believe they carried on that far, in my world's case."
For one thing, Sirius turned up again...

Andromeda doesn't know anything about that relationship.

She smiles just a little. "It was good." For the both of them, once Remus got over the age difference and stopped being a prat.

"I should hope so. Sirius talked to Dora more than I did, for a whole host of reasons, so I wouldn't know much about the dynamic."
What he did know, he wasn't in a hurry to get more detail of.

But back to other things ...

"What exactly is London Below?" He'd mentioned it before and it seems like it's important, so she's going back to it.

"A place that collects the lost and forgotten - things, people, places, any of the above. Mostly it's around the Tube lines, but it's got a few rooftops to its name as well. It was a bit disconcerting at first, to be going through a field and suddenly run across a few Roman legions, but... I've grown used to the place."

"Sounds ... interesting, at least." She's trying not to think about it too much, though, as she suspects it will make her head hurt.

"Oh, it is. Sometimes in the worst sense of the word - Sirius got kidnapped by a circus, while he was down there - but that's where having a safe place to stay comes in useful."

[nolongermoral]

"A circu--" She is not picturing Sirius in mime makeup right now.

Nope. Absolutely not. "...right then."

Regulus shrugs. "He was the one who took a chance on doing his Animagus transformation where someone might see him. Would have thought he'd have known better, but thinking was probably my first mistake."
And, well, they did get him out of there before anything drastic happened (mime makeup would have been the least of Sirius' worries), but still.
