So there was Poledra, who was not dead. And there was bliss. Belgarath would have been content to have left it there - happy, deliriously happy even! But then she told him to 'get out, unless you want to help.'
Seeing as 'helping' involved cleaning - his tower, mind, but he knew that wouldn't matter to Poledra - he decided to get out. And far enough away that he couldn't be dragged into helping anyway. But not too far, or at least that had been his attention. But one thing lead to another, and Belgarath found himself on Riva once more.
Not that that was a bad thing, mind. Keeping up with the family was important, and certain other family members might even buy that excuse. If he's lucky.
Belgarath doesn't even bother to knock before going into Garion's office.
He holds up a finger before digging through another pile, smiling with triumph as he pulls it out. Just one cask, and small, but it was something. A look through his desk turns up two tin cups which he blows in quickly to get rid of any dust.
...yes, apparently that talent has survived through the centuries.
"Here you go, Grandfather."
He lowers his head onto the desk.
"I don't know if I should, but... at least you can enjoy."

He finally looks up with a soft, amused smile.
"Sit. I think I can find a bit of ale if you'd like."

"That ale sounds good."

"Busy day?"
Reply
"Yes, that would be it."
He shakes his head and wipes the papers across the counter.
"I think my head is spinning. Otherwise, that document is alive."
