A few moments later, the door opens with a woosh and a young man trots in. He stops and leans on his staff, one hand on the sword that sits at his hip and not far from... are those grenades?
He gives Jack a bright smile, though there's something like 'don't kill the messenger" in his eyes.
Oh, Jack has no intention of killing the messenger. Especially not when the mesenger is so hot. Unless he turns out to be an evil hot messenger, but Jack considers himself to be at least decent at reading people (something about a century and change of experience), and the messenger doesn't strike him as a bad guy (eccentric choice of weaponry notwithstanding).
"Hello. I'm Captain Jack Harkness," he offers the handsome young man his hand, and a charming smile. "I take it I'm not the first one to arrive like this?"
"Warden Carlos Ramirez," he says with a shake of his head, "not that it matters out here. And yeah, you're not the first one. Everyone comes here like that."

Thomas smiles, gray eyes dark and amused, lips curled at the corners. He's fresh from the shower, so his hair is curling and wet, a few drops trailing down his jaw and throat attractively.
And further down, as he lacks a shirt. Just a pair of perfectly tailored jeans, bootcut over a pair of such, and a leather belt that hasn't been buckled yet. He leans against one of the walls, hip cocked just right as if he were posed only it's incredibly natural.
That's just Thomas.
"I don't know that it's a rift. I hadn't moved for some time, no steps. I was drying my hair."
He tugs on the still-damp towel around his neck and shrugs. Then he offers his hand.

"A tear in time and space will do that to you," Jack replies, taking his hand. "Pleased to meet you, Thomas."
Very pleased, oh yes.
He can tell it's all natural, the 'posing,' all of it, and hot damn that's appealing. Thomas is just plain (so to speak, because there's clearly nothing plain about him) appealing.

"Well, if you're the kind of company I wind up in, I'll take a trip through the rift any day. Captain Jack Harkness," he says, offering his hand.
