This man certainly follows the scent.

He's slipped through a door in a back alley of Isfahan that was supposed to lead into the underbelly of a bath house, but now, suddenly, he is in this lovely inn where the mysterious Lady Tiwa resides.

And a wonderful smell of baking, and some strange singing.

He eats it, and then his face freezes in absolute delight and amazement.

He sucks it, slowly and with utter delight.

"What is it made of?" he asks.

"Beans that grow on a tree, sort of like coffee."

"Oh, you haven't had that before? Um, I'm not sure how well I'll be able to explain. Basically it grows on trees."

"So do apples. And peaches. And dates."

"Yes, but they're not quite the same. Go as Bar for a coffee bean and chocolate bean, that will help."

He goes, then comes back -- with two beans, and a cup of coffee.

"Both are bitter," he says. "But coffee stays bitter. Chocolate transforms."

"Coffee is quite interesting in an odd and bitter way, though," he says.

"It can be nice. I like tea myself."

"This is oddly strong and enlivening," he says, taking another sip of the coffee.
